International
Vonk is an educational organization for young and adult learners located in the Netherlands. Vonk is the new name of our organization after Clusius College and ROC Kop van Noord-Holland merged in 2022.
Vonk is located in North-Holland and has 12 branches where we offer pre-vocational education, a wide range of vocational education and training courses (VET) and evening courses.
Vonk offers education to 4000 pre-vocational students in the age of 11 to 17 and VET-courses to 5000 students from 15 years and older.
Our VET courses vary from agribusiness to personal care and from Nautical to Florists. Vonk works closely with the businesses in our region as they are our student’s future employers. Vonk also offers students the opportunity to gain international experience. We have a varied network of international learning companies and VET schools abroad.
We are proud to be an Erasmus accredited organization! With this accreditation we show that we have a clear and future-proof internationalisation plan which we will continue in the coming years.
Each year, over 200 student and colleagues experience an international activity. This can be an internship, job shadowing, an international seminar, a lesson module at a partner school or a trip within an Erasmus project.
Internationalisation is a focuspoint in our Vonk-expedition and we are always interested in getting to know new international partners!

Flouristy & Styling
In our modern world of styling and design, flowers, plants and sustainable materials are becoming increasingly important. They create atmosphere and make an area or building more pleasant and healthier to live and work in. From a contemporary bouquet, decorating a colorful shop window, to styling an entire building. With your creativity and passion for flowers and other living material, you can make all the difference!
Hospitality
Delicious food and drinks will immediately put a smile on everyone’s face. Some students prefer to be in the kitchen, others would you rather ensure a warm welcome for all their guests. In this world our students are prepared for a job in the catering or food industry, as a chef or as a host/hostess
Logistics and (car)mechanics
Transport does not happen by itself. People are needed to maintain and repair the work vehicles and machines. And people who think about what needs to be transported, and when, and on which route. That's exactly what you learn in the Motor Vehicles and Logistics world.
Maritime
Our Maritime education is for our adventurous students who have always wanted to see the world and are attracted to the sea . Dutch fishing is centuries old and still important for the food supply. Also the engineering on the largest cruise or container ships in the world is very important. Our students can follow different courses in this sector so for eveyone who loves the open water, our Maritime sector is yours!
Mechatronics, engineering and carpentry
Making something yourself is beautiful craftsmanship. Wooden furniture, electrical installations, metalwork or welding robots – our students can go in any direction in this sector. And if they prefer not to do it themselves, they might become the expert in troubleshooting and repairs. This sector is for our students with technical insight who like working with their hands.
Hairstylist
As a hairdresser or hairstylist, our students ensure that every customer walks out with a beautiful haircut feeling happy! Hairdressing offers plenty of creativity and when working in this sector, you talk to all kinds of different customers every day.
Animal and animal welfare
Are you crazy about animals? And would you like to learn more about its care and well-being? Do you dream of a job as a veterinary assistant or are horses your great hobby and do you want to make it your profession? With us you can go in any direction.
Landscaping
Gardens, parks, roads and agricultural land. They would not exist without professionals with a heart for the green living environment. From construction and maintenance to operating large equipment, this industry revolves around the creativity of people and the power of machines.
ICT
ICT is always in motion, from the latest developments in cybersecurity, the use of drones, supporting users, blockchains or developing web apps. There is always something new to develop. With our ICT education, our students will know their way around the digital world.
Safety and (law)enforcement
A safe living environment cannot exist without people enforcing that safety: police officers, security guards, city supervision, enforcement and Defense. With our courses in Order and Safety, our students soon contribute to the safety of the people around us, both in the Netherlands and beyond.
Sports & lifestyle specialist
Living a healthy lifestyle is sometimes quite challenging. In our education in this sector, students can help other people becoming a heathier and happier person. We train our students to become a sport-professional or to become a lifestyle specialist. Students are busy living a healthy and fit life, and in the meantime help others to become healthier and feel better about themselves!
Tourism
Would you like to stay at the campsite or in the hotel all year round? Or do you dream of international work? For our students in the world of Tourism, it is possible! Our students train to start a job in animation, reception, tours or at a travel agency.
Healthcare and childcare
Taking care of children or supporting people in their home environment and guiding them through their limitations or, in healthcare and childcare you do valuable and important work. Students learn to help people get the best out of themselves and their lives. In this important sector, work will always be available.
Start certificate, entry level
For students without a high school diploma who would like to get a VET diploma, we offer our entry course. Students will be trained as an assistant in one of our 8 educational topics. After receiving the diploma, students can progress to a level 2 VET course.
